About This Role: Program Manager

Are you warm, caring individual passionate about making a difference for children and families? Do you love connecting with people and leading teams?

As the Program Manager, you will support the frontline team in delivering high-quality services to families. You will oversee program planning, implementation, and evaluation in alignment with Family Resource Network (FRN) guidelines and best practices.

As a member of the management team, you will also contribute to strategic planning, policy development and organizational problem solving.

The Program Manager acts in place of the Executive Director when required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse/ equity-deserving populations.

  • Understanding of intersectionality of identity, privilege, and social location, and ability to integrate these concepts into practice.

  • Strong relationship-building and community engagement skills.

  • Compassionate, strengths-based, and trauma-informed leadership approach.

Experience:

  • Experience leading and supporting a small team.

  • Experience supporting clients in a group and one-on-one context.

  • Experience in case management.

  • Experience working with children and their families/caregivers in community settings.

  • Experience with HR basics.

  • Experience working with parenting programs considered an asset.

  • Experience assembling quantitative and qualitative data.

Mandatory Certifications:

  • RCMP & Child & Youth Intervention Check

  • Class 5 Drivers License

  • Proof of a minimum of three years insurance on a personal vehicle

  • Driver’s Abstract

  • First Aid

  • Ability to obtain or willingness to work toward required program certifications (Triple P Positive Parenting, Kids Have Stress Too, Circle of Security, Bringing Baby Home, Active Parenting, Traditional Parenting and ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE)

Education:

  • Degree or diploma in Social Work or related field

  • Training in parenting programs such as Triple P Positive Parenting, Circle of Security, Active Parenting, Bringing Baby Home, etc. considered an asset

  • Education in Indigenous studies considered an asset

Responsibilities:

Human Resource Management & Team Support

  • Partner with the Executive Director to implement HR strategy and budgets.

  • Support professional development planning and budgets for frontline staff.

  • Provide supervision, coaching, evaluation, and team-building.

  • Coordinate and attend regular team and departmental meetings.

  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and performance management for frontline roles.

Program Management and Service Delivery

  • Oversee program planning, delivery, and evaluation in alignment with FRN guidelines and organizational standards.

  • Collaborate on logic models and outcome measurement for all programs.

  • Stay current on FRN and sector standards and implement updates as needed.

  • Supervise and support use of the data management system.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual program reporting.

  • Monitor trends, identify challenges, and recommend solutions.

  • Assist in program expansion and community partnership development.

  • Support program promotion and marketing efforts.

  • Provide direct program delivery when coverage is required.

Committee Work

  • Represent The Hub on relevant committees such as OCOY and Rural Community Outreach.

  • Participate in regional and national Family Resource Network committees when applicable.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners.

  • Work collaboratively to promote Wood Buffalo’s Family Resource Network.

Organizational Leadership & Executive Director Support

  • Act on behalf of the Executive Director during their absence.

  • Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational development.

  • Attend Board meetings when requested.

  • Support fundraising activities including cultivating and stewarding funders and donors.

Job Type: Full-Time

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm 37.5 hours per week with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Must be flexible to work some additional evenings and weekends required to fill gaps in service.

Pay: From $40.00 per hour
