PLAY PROGRAMS

 

DROP -IN PLAY

Families are welcome to drop in and play together. A Family Support Worker will be available to answer any questions and provide support. Monday to Friday 9AM-12PM and 1PM-4PM only.

For parents/caregivers and children 0-6 years.

LITTLE SCIENTISTS

Join us for fun, interactive activities that encourage your child‘s independence and critical thinking skills.

For children ages 3-6 years.

MUSIC PLAY

Instrument play, dancing, songs and rhymes for the whole family. 

For children ages 0-6 years.

 

ART & SENSORY

This program allows you and your child to explore using all of your senses. Come prepared to get messy and have fun!

For children ages 0-6 years.

BITTY BABIES

Learn new tools to help interact with your babies in ways that support secure attachment, communication and brain development.

For babies 0 years - pre-crawling.

TINY MOVERS

An interactive program that helps your child develop their motor skills and positive interactions through fun activities.

For children ages crawling-24 months.

 

MINDFUL MINDS

Being a kid is tough! Join us in programming tailored to helping grow your child’s self regulation and social emotional skills. Appropriate for all children, including neurodiverse children and children with anxiety.

For ages 3-6 years.

DANCE PL3Y

Dancepl3y is a high-energy kids physical activity program that plays with dance while promoting positive mental health through the three rules of PL3Y - Be Positive. Be Fun. Be Yourself. Children learn simple moves from a variety of styles as they get interACTIVE with their peers.

This program is offered on the second and fourth Friday of each month.

For ages 2-6 years.

 

Dad & Me

Join us for a special Earth Day edition of our Dad and Me program! Get ready to unleash your creativity as we make eco-friendly crafts together.

INDIVIDUAL PARENTING SUPPORTS

The Hub Family Resource Centre offers numerous parent/caregiver supports for families. By meeting with our Caregiver Engagement Coordinator individually, the programs will be tailored to your families specific needs.

For families with children ages 0-18 years.

AGES & STAGES DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENING

Developmental Screenings are a quick check of your child’s development. Screening takes a snapshot of your child’s current skills and helps accurately identify children who may be at risk for delays. Screenings are also available online here.

For families with children ages 0-5 years.

INDIGENOUS WOMEN’S AND MOTHER’S GROUP

This group is inclusive of First Nations, status and non-status, disenfranchised, Métis, and Inuit women and mothers to explore their culture and heritage while connecting with one another. It is a safe space for women to share their life stories, connect on parenting and build a small community within one another. Children are welcome!

This program is offered on the first and third Friday of each month.

For Indigenous women and mothers.

 

MOMS MATTER

This is a support group for expectant and new moms, giving them a safe and encouraging space to learn strategies to help through the ups and downs of motherhood.

For new and expecting moms and children 0-12 months.

CIRCLE OF SECURITY

Circle of Security helps parents/caregivers to:

  • Understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read emotional needs

  • Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions

  • Enhance the development of their child's self esteem

  • Honor the innate wisdom and desire for their child to be secure

For parents/caregivers of children ages 0-18 years.

BRINGING BABY HOME

Big changes happen when children come along! Learning how to stay connected as a couple and finding healthy ways to solve problems are important to happy and healthy relationships that last. Take some time out to connect with your partner and practice skills that you can use for a lifetime.

For expectant couples and couples with children 0-18 months.

 

KIDS HAVE STRESS TOO!

Kids Have Stress Too gives parents and caregivers tools to better understand stress and to help their child(ren) respond to it in a healthy way. If children can learn to respond to stress in a healthy and constructive way early on, they will be more resilient and better able to cope with whatever life sends their way.

For parents/caregivers of children 4-18 years.

 
 

MY TWEEN & ME

This program is intended to strengthen the confidence and ability of parents to positively influence the lives of their school age children. The goal is to support parents and children in the transition to adolescence. My Tween and Me works to promote positive youth development, foster resilience in middle school childhood and adolescence and strengthen family relationships.

Activities for youth will also be provided.

For parents/caregivers and youth ages 7-9 years.
